Frequently Asked Questions
Direct-operated meters connect straight to the supply circuit and are used for lower current LT connections, while transformer-operated meters use current/potential transformers to step down high current or voltage for HT and large LT consumers.
Class 0.2s (revenue-grade), 0.5s (standard HT/Open Access), Class 1 (commercial) and Class 2 (basic residential/small commercial) meters are all calibrated.
1-phase and 3-phase meters are calibrated as per IS 13779 and IS 14697, covering both direct and transformer-operated configurations.
